Day 1 – Running from Grace

Jonah 1:1–3 (NIV)

"The word of the Lord came to Jonah son of Amittai: 'Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me.' But Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish..."

✨ Reflection

When God called Jonah, he ran the other way. Maybe it was fear. Maybe it was resentment. But deep down, it was a refusal to trust that God’s way—however uncomfortable—was better than hiding. We’ve all boarded boats to “Tarshish” in our own ways: choosing escape over obedience, hiding in distractions or old habits instead of turning toward grace.

📖 Journaling Prompt

When have you felt like running from God’s direction in your life? What “boats” have you boarded to avoid what He’s asking of you?
