๐Ÿ“– Day 8: The Deliverance

๐Ÿ“– Day 8: The Deliverance

Scripture:
โ€œAnd the Lord commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.โ€ โ€” Jonah 2:10

๐ŸŒŠ Reflection

Just when Jonah thought the darkness would be his end, God spoke.
Not in anger.
Not in harshness.
But in mercy.

The same God who sent the fish now commands it to release him. Deliverance comesโ€”not because Jonah was perfect, but because God is compassionate. The belly had been a place of pause, a place of prayer, a place of undoing and remaking. Now Jonah is placed gently back on solid ground, with purpose beneath his feet again.

Sometimes Godโ€™s rescue doesnโ€™t look polished or pretty. Sometimes we stumble onto the โ€œshoreโ€ still dripping with the evidence of where weโ€™ve been. But grace doesnโ€™t wait for us to be cleaned upโ€”it meets us as we are and leads us forward.

God doesnโ€™t just free Jonah from the fishโ€ฆ
He frees him from the shame that swallowed him.
He frees him to begin again.

And He does the same for us.

๐Ÿ“ Journal Prompt

Where have you seen God bring you out of something dark and into a fresh beginning?
What โ€œdry landโ€ has He placed in front of you that you can step onto with gratitude today?
