Water into Wine: The First Miracle

Lesson 4 – Water into Wine: The First Miracle

Scripture: John 2:1-12

Key Verse:
“This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory. And his disciples believed in him.” (John 2:11)

Introduction:

Jesus’ first miracle wasn’t dramatic or public — it was quiet and personal, yet deeply meaningful. Turning water into wine at a wedding shows both His power and His heart for ordinary people and their everyday needs.

Study Points:

  1. Jesus’ Timing: Mary trusts Jesus, even when He says, “My hour has not yet come.”

  2. Transformation: He turns the ordinary (water) into something extraordinary (wine).

  3. Faith Grows Through Signs: The disciples’ belief deepens when they witness His glory.

Reflection Questions:

  • What ordinary areas of your life could Jesus transform if you let Him?

  • How does this miracle show Jesus cares about the details of our lives?

Application Idea:

I encourage you to pray for one “ordinary” area in your life that needs extraordinary grace.
